Went to sea for several years as a watch-keeping engineer officer, then left and became an assistant to the superintendant-engineer in a large factory complex. My interest in history increased after we found many interesting Victorian artifacts buried under the factory complex. After I was made redundant had my own business for a while and moved on to being a marine and technical journalist that brought me into contact with many types of vessels then took a course to return to higher education. Went off to Oxford Brookes University studying History& Politics/Publishing; progressed to Kings London dept War Studies and Essex University research masters. Had to with draw due to health problems; but I am a registered professional researcher with the Greenwich Maritime Museum. Director of the “Underwater Heritage Trust” and Merlindown Science Archaeology search system for land and water.
