CBA London hosts the London Archaeology Forum (LAF), which is your opportunity to hear about and share what has been happening in the world of London archaeology in recent months.  Join us to find out about the sites currently under investigation, recent discoveries and discuss the issues that matter for the protection and promotion of archaeology in the capital.

LAF meetings are held twice a year in the Clore Learning Centre at the Museum of London. The next will be held on the 19th November 2018 at 6pm. The guest speakers will be as follows:

The Battersea Channel Project and the joys of geoarchaeology – Virgil Yendell of MOLA discusses the multi-organisation project in the Nine Elms/Battersea development area

The Guy’s Hospital Science Gallery site – Alistair Douglas of PCA reveals the discoveries from excavations in this important area of Southwark.

Archaeology at St Bart’s – Anthony Francis of MOLA reviews recent results at another hospital, in Smithfield, where Roman, medievall and Great Fire deposits have been found.

The 2018 London Archaeological Prize will also be awarded for the best publication in 2017/18. This is to be presented by Trustees of London Archaeologist magazine.
